May 27th, 2020 Dear UEG family, Good morning! I hope this message finds you in good spirits given everything going on in the world today. Over the last few months, we have heard from literally thousands of you, and have moved forward in three directions. First, by popular demand, Urban Camp Weekend in June WILL continue to move forward as planned. Second, as it relates to Cape Town, South Africa, many of you have decided to move the credit to either our Aruba trip in September for Labor Day or our Dubai trip in December/January for the New Year celebration! Last but not least, Barbados for Crop Over later this year. We have transferred everyone we haven’t heard back from to the Barbados 2021 event. For our guests that have purchased trip insurance (prior to March 2020), we have processed all of your claims. For those who want to purchase trip insurance going forward, double-check with the policy. Insurance companies have changed their policies as of March, for obvious reasons. May 15th, 2020 Dear UEG family, As we all adjust to this new normal, my thoughts are with you and your families. The last several weeks have been emotional and trying for all of us, but I continue to be inspired by the goodness in people and the genuine acts of kindness, large and small, that I see every day. These gestures of warmth, strength and caring give me the confidence that in time, we will emerge stronger than before. It’s in that spirit that I wanted to share with you some good news about what Urban Events Global has been doing for you as we tackle the biggest and most disruptive crisis we’ve faced in modern-day history. Good news as you’re making travel plans Life is unpredictable in lots of ways right now. We know many of you started the year planning to travel with us to discover and explore new places, make new friends, or simply relax. Don’t worry about what to do about your upcoming travel plans. May 14th, 2020 Cape Town, South Africa South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa said he will extend a nationwide lockdown by two weeks. The lockdown, which started on March 27 and was due to last for 21 days. South Africa barred entry to foreign travelers arriving from or transiting through high-risk countries, including Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, France, Switzerland, the US, the UK and China. South Africans were also advised to cancel or postpone all non-essential foreign travel. South African Airways announced on March 20 it would suspend international flights until May 31.

April 20th, 2020 Update on Barbados, Cropover 2020. Yesterday (April 19th), official notice was issued, informing all stakeholders that the 2020 Crop Over Festival has been cancelled in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Bandleaders, revelers and event promoters have been awaiting official word from the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) on plans for the 2020 Crop Over season for a while now as other regional Festivals and Carnivals got postponed and/or canceled. The Cabinet of Barbados at its meeting on Thursday, April 16 approved the recommendation of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sports to cancel the 2020 Crop Over Festival as well as the National Independence Festival of Creative Arts (NIFCA). “This decision was made in light of ongoing global efforts to contain and manage the COVID–19 pandemic as well as Government’s negative short-term projections for the local economy, regional and international travel and trade and weakened public confidence in attending mass gatherings in the current environment and immediately thereafter,” the statement said. The Cabinet has further agreed that the Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sports, through the NCF, will replace the two major festivals this year with a national training program in schools and communities. There is also to be a wide-reaching campaign to both fund and produce radio, television and digital content that will be accessible across multiple delivery channels including the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). “The Ministry of Creative Economy, Culture and Sports remains committed to its mission of the creation of opportunities in the cultural industries and in pursuit of this objective, the National Cultural Foundation will shortly convene a series of stakeholder consultations to discuss ways in which cultural practitioners can participate in, and benefit from, the programs identified to replace Crop Over and NIFCA,” the statement concluded. For those who have signed up for the Crop Over event, you have several options, and at no point will you risk losing your funds. Some of those options include, but not limited to, moving the funds to another event. Right now we have an event in Aruba still on the calendar during Labor Day Weekend in September and a Dubai trip for New Years. If you’ve signed a contractual payment plan with Partial.ly and are in good standing, we will work with all parties to waive any transfer fees (plans will not automatically be canceled or paused.) In addition, if you have trip insurance and would like to cancel, we will help you with the paperwork. Sincerely, Kevin Knight

Our team understands the concern and uncertainty caused by coronavirus (COVID-19). We’re here to help. March 11th, 2020 To our valued Customers, There is no higher priority to our entire Urban Events Global Family than the safety of our customers and employees. We are in close communication with medical professionals, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and government agencies to stay on top of this evolving situation. According to the most recent information from the CDC, for most people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is thought to be low. With that being said, our next event is more than 3 months away. As of the date of this letter, all of our events are still taking place as scheduled. In addition, I want to take a moment to remind customers about travel insurance. We’ve traveled around the world several times over, and can’t help but stress the importance of travel insurance.
